About Us
Escolástica refers to the merging of philosophical and theological thought during the 11th and 15th centuries, which eventually gave rise to present-day educational institutions. This brought forth a new era of intellectualism that encouraged reasoning and speculation as a means of questioning the world, allowing us to expand the limits of our potential. By doing so, we create alternative streams of discourse that engage a wider scope of readers and thinkers with avant-garde ideas. And, as indie authors, we do just that.

But to me, Escolástica is also the name of the person who showed me true kindness. My grandmother, also known as Aida Escolástica Flores Mena, was one of the strongest, most hardworking, and kindest people I have ever known. She met each person she encountered with the same love and compassion she had for her own family.

As a result, she left this earth at the age of 97 with more gusto and vibrancy than most experience in their youth. Starting this publishing house is my way of sharing with others the kindness that she shared with me.
